Scheme Overview:

• Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren launched it.

• To both serving and retired government employees as well as certain non-government employees in the state, aims at providing comprehensive health insurance coverag.

Eligible Beneficiaries:

• All serving and retired state government employees.

• Both current and former Hon’ble Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

• Both active and retired university teachers in Jharkhand.

• Other designated professionals and Registered advocates.

Insurance Coverage Benefits:

• Under normal circumstances – ₹5 lakh health insurance coverage.

• For treatment of critical or serious illnesses – ₹10 lakh coverage.

• Based on their entitlement beneficiaries under Category A and B will receive coverage exceeding ₹10 lakh.

Benefits of the Scheme:

Offers extensive health insurance coverage, the Jharkhand State Employees Health Insurance Scheme to a wide range of beneficiaries which includes:

• State government employees (BOTH active and retired).

• Current and former Hon’ble MLAs.

• University teachers in Jharkhand (Serving and retired).

• Other eligible individuals and registered advocate.

Health Insurance Coverage:

• For general medical conditions – ₹5 lakh coverage.

• for treatment of critical illnesses – ₹10 lakh coverage.

• Based on eligibility, category A and B beneficiaries are eligible for coverage exceeding ₹10 lakh, 

How to Apply Online for SEHIS?

To apply for the Jharkhand State Employees Health Insurance Scheme online, follow these steps:

1. Go to the official SEHIS portal launched by the government.

2. By providing your full name, email ID, mobile number, and a chosen password, register yourself.

3. Using your mobile number and password, login to the portal .

4. Using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number, verify your identity.

5. Click on “New Application”, on the dashboard.

6. Enter all the details needed in the application form accurately.

7. Upload scanned copies of the required documents and submit the form.

8. Your health insurance will be activated accordingly and your application details will be forwarded to the insurance company. 

Documents Required for Application:

Applicants must keep the following documents ready to apply for the scheme online :

• Valid Email ID

• Mobile Number

• Aadhaar Card

• Employment-related information (designation, department, etc.)

Eligible Beneficiary Categories:

(Mandatory Coverage) Category A: 

• Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Current Hon’ble Members .

•  Jharkhand State Government all serving employees.

(Voluntary Coverage) Category B: 

By paying the prescribed premium, these individuals can opt-in for the scheme:

• family pensioners and their dependents/ retired state government employees.

•  Jharkhand Legislative Assembly – Former Members.

• All India Services posted in Jharkhand – Serving/retired officers.

• Regular employees of state government boards, corporations, authorities, and institutions (Serving/retired).

• Serving or retired, Teaching and non-teaching staff of state universities and their affiliated colleges.

Category C:

• Constituted at the level of the Hon’ble Jharkhand High Court, advocates registered under the Jharkhand Advocate Welfare Fund Trustee Committee

Dependent Beneficiaries:

Category A, B, and C members, the following dependents are also eligible:

• Spouse.

• Son / legally adopted son (up to 25 years of age, if unemployed).

• Daughter (if unmarried, widowed, or divorced).

• Minor brother and unmarried sister.

• Dependent parents:

  • Below ₹9,000 plus admissible Dearness Relief in the case of pensioners, parents with monthly pension.

• For lifetime health insurance coverage, Dependents with disabilities (divyangjans) are eligible.

• Only one set of parents (either her own or in-laws) can be included as dependents – for female employees

• They cannot list each other as dependents. Their children can be dependent under only one parent, in case both spouses are government employees
