Agniveer Bharti 2025 New Rules: Age, Salary & Training Details

Inviting candidates to apply for the position of Agniveer through rallies conducted across various regions of the country, the Indian Army has announced the Agniveer Recruitment 2025. The recruitment is open to both men and women who wish to serve in the Armed Forces aged between 17.5 and 23 years.

Indian Army Agniveer Allowances

During their 4-year service period, agniveers in the Indian Army are eligible for the following allowances:

• Risk & Hardship Allowance (an Additional pay) – for serving in challenging and high-risk areas.

• Dress Allowance – It covers the cost of uniforms and attire.

• Ration Allowance – For daily food requirements, monetary compensation.

• Travel Allowance – For official travel-related expenses reimbursement.

Indian Army Agniveer Benefits

Agniveers are entitled to multiple benefits upon completion of service and during tenure including:

• Seva Nidhi Package

  • After completion of the 4-year term a one-time financial package of ₹11.71 lakh is provided.

• Regular Cadre Opportunity

  • Based on performance and organizational requirements 25% of Agniveers may selected for enrolment into the permanent cadre of the Indian Armed Forces

• Life Insurance Cover

  • During the service period Agniveers will receive a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh.

• Ex Gratia for Service-Related Death

  • In the event of a service-related death, in ex gratia amount of ₹44 lakh will provided to the next of kin.

• Disability Compensation

  • Due to disability Agniveers medically boarded out will receive:

    • ₹44 lakh for 100% disability

    • ₹25 lakh for 75% disability

    • ₹15 lakh for 50% disability

• Leave Entitlement : Agniveers are eligible for 30 days of annual leave.

• Medical and Canteen Facilities

  • During service, access to military medical facilities and CSD (Canteen Stores Department) services.

• Reservation Opportunities

  • 10% reservation in :

    • Assam Rifles

    • Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)

    • Indian Coast Guard

    • Defense Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs)

Indian Army Agniveer Salary 2025 :

• Starting Salary: fixed amount of INR 30,000 per month.

  • This salary is without additional allowances like DA, HRA, or TA.

  • Throughout the four-year tenure, the salary remains the same.

• Salary Structure:

  • For roles such as GD (General Duty), Tradesman, or Clerk, Agniveers are recruited.

  • To include risk and hardship allowances the salary package is customized.

  • To the Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund or any other provident fund, no contribution required.

  • Benefits like gratuity or pension benefits are not provided.

  • For benefits under the Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) are not for Agniveers .

Indian Army Agniveer In-Hand Salary 2025

• Basic Pay:

  • For all Agniveers, set at INR 30,000 per month .

• Allowances:

  • In the salary package, risk and hardship allowances are included.

• Seva Nidhi Package:

  • Agniveers will receive a one-time special payment called the ‘Seva Nidhi’ package of INR 11.71 lakh, at the end of four years.

  • A matching government contribution, their own contributions and accumulated interest are included in the package.

Annual Salary Growth :

• In the 1st Year – An Estimated annual salary of INR 4.76 lakh.

• In the Final Year – An Estimated annual salary of INR 6.92 Lakh in the Final Year.

Opportunities for Permanent Enrolment

• Post-Service Opportunity :

  • AGNIVEERs may apply for permanent enrolment in the Indian Army, after completing four years of service.

  • During the four-year period, applications will reviewed centrally based on performance.

  • May enrolled in the regular cadre, up to 25% of each specific batch of AGNIVEERs.

  • Selection is at the discretion of the Indian Army and AGNIVEERs have no right to permanent enrolment. 

Employment and Duties :

• Assigned Duties:

  • As per the organization’s requirements and the discretion of the Indian Army AGNIVEERs may assigned any duty.

Training

• Military Training:

  • AGNIVEERs will undergo military training as per the Indian Army’s requirements, upon enrolment.

Leave Entitlements

• Annual Leave: 30 days/year.

• Sick Leave: Based on medical advice its granted.

Medical and CSD Facilities

• Medical Benefits:

  •  Throughout their engagement period, AGNIVEERs will receive medical care at Service Hospitals.

• CSD Provisions:

  • During their service, access to CSD facilities.

Insurance, Death, and Disability Compensation

• Life Insurance: For the duration of the engagement period, non-contributory life insurance cover of INR 48 lakh .

• Exemption from Pension Regulations: By the Pension Regulations/Rules of the Indian Army – AGNIVEERs  not governed.

Skill Certification

• Skill-Set Certificate: AGNIVEERs will receive a detailed Skill-Set certificate highlighting the skills and competencies acquired during their service at the end of the engagement period.

Ex-Servicemen Status :

• Eligibility: Personnel enrolled under this scheme are not eligible for Ex-Servicemen status.

Eligibility Criteria

• Marital Status:

  • For enrolment as AGNIVEERs – only unmarried candidates are eligible.

  • During the four-year engagement period, AGNIVEERs must agree not to marry.

  • they will released from service, if an AGNIVEER marries during this period.

  • In the regular cadre as Sepoy/equivalent only unmarried AGNIVEERs are eligible for re-enrolment.

• Women Agniveers:

  • During the engagement period, women AGNIVEERs must undertake not to get pregnant.

  • After medical evaluation, women AGNIVEERs who become pregnant are discharged or dismissed from service .
