For the academic year 2024–25, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the Class 10 and 12 results. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks following the announcement have the opportunity to apply for verification, recounting, or revaluation of their answer sheets. Allowing students to seek a transparent review of their results, CBSE will soon initiate the application window for these processes.

Starting from the fourth day after the result declaration, the option to apply for verification will be open for five days.  The CBSE Board New rules have now made it easier to apply for various services. Services like mark verification, requesting scanned copies of their answer sheets, or submitting a re-evaluation request. Students can visit the official website – cbseresults.nic.in.  To address their grievances, this initiative ensures that students concerned about their performance have a fair and structured mechanism

  • The rechecking process has been revised and simplified for 2025, as per the latest CBSE circular.

  • Before deciding their next step, the new process allows students to first view a photocopy of their evaluated answer book .

CBSE Board Revaluation, Recounting, and Re-verification 2025

  • The Class 10 and 12 results was announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

  • For students dissatisfied with their marks, CBSE has introduced a student-friendly post-result process.

  • Students can choose to :

    • Verification of Marks

    • Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Sheet

    • Re-evaluation of Specific Answers

What Do These Terms Mean ?

1. Recounting of Marks

  • It involves checking :

    • If  all the answers are correctly evaluated.

    • Whether the total marks are correctly calculated.

2. Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Sheet

  • After mark verification, students can request a scanned copy of their evaluated answer sheet.

  • It helps to review, evaluation quality and marking.

3. Re-evaluation of Answers

  • A photocopy of their answer sheet is only available for students who have received.

  • Up to 10 specific questions per subject, allows re-checking.

Applying for the CBSE Post-Results Process :

To apply for the CBSE post-result services, follow these steps :

  • Go to the official portal of CBSE  as mentioned – cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • For Class 10 or 12, click on the link “Apply for Answer Book”.

  • Enter the folllowing required details mentioned :

    • Class

    • Roll Number

    • Application Number (from photocopy request)

  • ₹500–₹700 per subject, after that pay the applicable fee.

  • To download the photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet, click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Verification of Marks Application :

Follow the steps mentioned below to request verification of your marks :

  • Visit the official website of CBSE : cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • Click on the “Apply for Re-Verification” tab.

  • Select the service you wish to apply for and verify.

  • Pay the fee that is ₹500 per subject.

  • Save the acknowledgement receipt for your records. Click on the ‘Apply’ tab.

How To Apply for CBSE Post-Result Services ?

Getting a Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Sheet :

  • Go to the official website: cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • Click on: “Apply for Answer Book” for Class 10 or 12.

  • Fill in the required details.

  • Pay the fees (₹500–₹700 per subject).

  • Submit the form and download the photocopy once available.

Verification of Marks :

  • Go to the official website: cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • For Class 10 or 12, click on the ‘Apply For Re-Verification’ tab.

  • To verify, select the subjects you want.

  • Pay the verification fee.

  • For future reference save and download the acknowledgement .

Re-evaluation of Specific Answers :

  • It is only applicable if a student has already received the photocopy of the answer sheet.

  • For re-evaluation, a maximum of 10 questions per subject.

  • Visit the official website : cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • Select your class and click on: “Apply for Re-evaluation” tab.

  • Specify the exact question numbers clearly.

  • Submit the form and pay ₹100 per question.

  • For your records, keep a copy of the application.

Checking Application Status and Results

How to Check Application Status ?

  • Go to: cbseit.in/cbse/web/rchk

  • Click on: Application Status for the desired service.

  • Enter your Application Number and Roll Number to view the current status.

How to Check Result Declaration ?

  • Revaluation results are released 2–3 weeks after the application.

  • Check the official result portal: results.cbse.nic.in

  • Keep the following ready:

    • Roll Number

    • School Number

    • Admit Card ID

Two-Step Rechecking Process :

Step 1: Obtain a Photocopy of the Evaluated Answer Book

  • Before any further action, this is now the first and mandatory step.

  • Students can see examiner comments, review their answer sheets, and spot marking issues.

Step 2: Choose the Next Action Based on Review

  • Students can do the following after checking the photocopy,

    • To identify totaling errors or unchecked responses, apply for Verification of Marks.

    • Requesting a fresh evaluation of up to 10 questions per subject, apply for Re-evaluation of Specific Answers.

    • Depending on the issues identified, opt for both.
