The Prime Minister’s Nikshay Poshan Yojana was created to give people with turculosis (TB) financial support. In order to help people who might not have the funds for appropriate care, the Central Government is providing TB patients with Rs. 500 per month to support their treatment and nutritional needs. The Government of India launched NIKSHAY, a web-enabled tool for tracking and obtaining TB patient data, in order to efficiently monitor TB patients across the country.

Launched in June 2012, the system was created by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Central TB Division in partnership with the National Informatics Center.
