ITI Assam Counselling 2024

In June 2024, the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam, will administer the Assam ITI admission process online. Interested candidates can apply for admission in various trades by submitting their application forms on the official website of DVET Assam. The application forms will cater to NCVT/CoE trades, SCVT trades, and IMC under SCVT (offered by IMC in select ITIs) as part of the Craftsman Training Scheme.

All About DECT :

The Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training in Assam, part of the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, has three main areas:

i. Craftsmen Training Scheme: Offers training programs at Government ITIs to provide skilled workers for industries and reduce unemployment among educated youth.

ii. Employment Service Scheme: Aims to match job seekers with suitable employment opportunities.

iii. Apprenticeship Training: Provides on-the-job training to individuals to enhance their skills and employability.

The Directorate works closely with the Director General of Training, which oversees vocational training at the national level. Trainees receive certificates from either the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), depending on the trade they’ve completed.

Applying For Assam ITI :

1. Navigate to the relevant section on the official website – itiassam.gov.in

2. Choose “Online Registration” and then “New Candidate Registration” to initiate the registration process.

3. Afterward, access the Online Registration link again and log in using your application number and password.

4. Complete the application by providing personal and educational details, and upload the required documents.

5. Once the application submission is done, ensure to print out the application form for future reference.

 Selection Procedure For Assam ITI :

1. Choosing ITI and Courses : Candidates select their preferred ITI and courses from the provided table on the website.

2. Merit-Based Allocation : Seats are allocated based on merit, considering the candidate’s marks in the entry qualification exam and adhering to reservation rules.

3.  Special Considerations :

• Candidates with disabilities need to provide a trade suitability certificate.
• Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates need to show their Family Income Certificate during verification.

4. Merit List Preparation :

• For Post Matric trades: Marks in Mathematics and English are considered, followed by randomization if needed.
• For trades with HSLC pass: Marks in Mathematics and English are considered, followed by randomization if needed.
• For Under Matric trades: Marks in Mathematics and English are considered, followed by randomization if needed.

5. Vacant Seat Filling : Vacant seats in Under-Matric Trades may be opened for Post-Matric Candidates from the 4th e-Counseling onwards if 8 pass candidates are unavailable.

6. Qualifications for Engineering and Non-Engineering Trades :

• Candidates must have passed the entry qualification exam with Mathematics and English.
• For Non-Engineering Trades: Marks in Mathematics and English are considered, followed by randomization if needed.

7. Bodo Language Transcription Trade (BLTT) :

• Candidates must have English and Bodo language qualifications.
• Marks in English are considered, followed by randomization if needed.

8. Submission of Marks and Certificates :

• Candidates need to submit their mark sheets during verification.
• CBSE CGPA pattern candidates must convert their grades to marks.

9. Upgradation : Candidates can opt for one-time upgradation up to the 5th e-counseling, if they do not freeze their seat during admission.

Before initiating the online application process for Assam ITI Admission 2024, candidates should ensure they have the following documents prepared. These documents are required to be uploaded onto the official website to complete the application procedure. It’s important to note that each file should fall within the size range of 20 to 200 KB.

5. Identity card
6. Passport size photographs
7. Photograph of Scorecard

Eligibility Criteria for Various Posts :

Seat Reservation Criterias For Assam ITI :

• 30% seats are reserved for women candidates in each ITI.
• If the reserved category seats are not filled, the remaining seats are open to candidates from the unreserved category.
• Candidates must undergo a medical check-up at the time of admission.
• Candidates with disabilities need to produce a trade suitability certificate from the National Career Service Centre for Differently Able or as per trades suitability communicated by DGT.
• Only blind category Dibyang candidates can apply for admission into Dibyang ITI Dibrugarh.
• Only TGL/Ex-TGL candidates can apply to Labour Welfare Industrial Training Center Rowriah (NCVT Private ITI).

Note : Tuition fees waived off for BPL candidates except for NCVT under IMC & SCYL under IMC courses.
