Clat Counselling 2024 Date, Process, Fee Refund

The CLAT admission process is divided into UG and PG programmes, each with its own counselling procedures. Following each round of counselling, the consortium will release the seat allotment for the participating NLUs. As part of the CLAT 2024 application process, candidates had to indicate their NLU preferences. The Common Law Admission Test, conducted by the Consortium, took place on December 3, 2024. Registration for the Admissions Counselling Process :

– Eligible candidates will invited to participate in the Admissions Counselling Process based on their rank list and the admissions matrix provided by each NLU.
– Invitations will sent via email to the candidate’s registered email address, SMS to their registered mobile number, and an invitation on their CLAT 2024 portal.
– Candidates must log in to their CLAT account on the Consortium of NLUs website to validate their invitation for counselling during each round. The Consortium is not responsible for undelivered emails/SMSs.
– Registrations for the Admissions Counselling Process will :
– Open at 10:00 A.M. on December 11, 2024.
– Close at 10:00 P.M. on December 20, 2024.

Admissions Counselling Process :

– Payment for the Admissions Counselling Process must completed online after logging in to the CLAT 2024 portal through the Consortium website.
– The Counselling Registration Fee is refundable; please refer to paragraph 4 for refund details.
– To register for the Admissions Counselling Process :
– Log in to your CLAT account.
– Click the ‘Make Payment’ button (visible only if you have been selected for the Admissions Counselling Process).
– Complete the payment of the Counselling Registration Fee.
– Wait for a ‘Payment Successful’ message before logging out.
– Candidates are advised not to wait until the last minute to make payments to avoid payment-related issues.
– Requests to make payments after the registration deadline, i.e., 10:00 PM on December 20, 2024, will not considered.
– The Consortium will not responsible for any payment-related issues.
– Only candidates who have successfully completed the registration process for the Admissions Counselling Process will considered for seat allotment.
– Registration for the Admissions Counselling Process does not guarantee admission at the member NLUs.
– Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in any round of the Admissions Counselling Process may considered for seat allotment during subsequent rounds against any vacancies that arise in a particular category.

Options After Seat Allotment :

Freeze Option : If the candidate is content with the allocated seat and does not wish to participate in further rounds of seat allocation or counselling, they can choose to ‘Freeze’ the seat allocation.

Float Option : If the candidate hasn’t received their first preference NLU seat and wishes to keep the possibility open for securing a higher preference NLU seat, they may opt for the ‘Float’ Option.

Exit Option :

– If, at any point after completing the Registration Process, a candidate decides not to continue participating in the Counselling Process, they can choose to ‘Exit’ from the Admissions Counselling Process.
– Choosing the Exit option means forfeiting the seat allocated and any Confirmation Fee paid.
– After selecting the Exit option, no seat will allotted to the candidate.

– Character Certificate/Conduct Certificate from the Educational Institution last attended
– Transfer/Migration Certificate from the Educational Institution last attended
– Caste Certificate (SC, ST, OBC, etc.) if applied and allotted under the Reserved category of seats
– PwD/SAP Certificate, if applied and allotted under the PwD category
– Domicile/Residence Certificate, if applied and allotted under the domicile/resident category seat
– Any other supporting documents to claim your seat for the category you have applied

Rounds of Admissions Counselling :

– The admissions counselling will consist of five rounds.
– Candidates who are not allotted a seat in a round are advised to wait for the next round as the process is sequential.
– The fourth and fifth rounds of admissions counselling will take place in May 2024 to fill any remaining seat vacancies.
– All available seats will allocated to eligible candidates in these rounds.
– Any open ‘Float’ options will converted to ‘Freeze’ for the last allocated seats.
– After the fifth round of admissions counselling, the central admission process conducted by the Consortium will closed.

Refund of the Counselling Registration Fee :

– If a candidate is not allotted a seat by the end of the Fifth round or chooses to exit without selecting Freeze or Float option, the Counselling Registration Fee will fully refunded.
– If a candidate selects Float or Freeze option but later chooses to exit before or after May 23, 2024, the Counselling Registration Fee will fully refunded or refunded with a deduction of Rs. 5,000/- respectively.
– If a candidate is allotted a seat in the Fifth round but chooses to exit, the Counselling Registration Fee will fully refunded.
– If a candidate is found ineligible by an NLU after document verification, Rs. 5,000/- will deducted from the Counselling Registration Fee for the refund.
– Refunds will credited to the same account used for payment.
– Candidates must ensure their provided bank accounts are active during the counselling process and refund process.
– Requests to transfer refunds to another account will not entertained.
